Palast, 23rd day of Brookgreen, 1021 PC - Taywin's Journal

Please insert the sound of a record needle scratching across a record here...

Hold on a second, XP Fairy here.

I'm sure that some of you are not familiar with Krynnish calendars (and those of you that are, please skip ahead).

Ok, so let's do this one step at a time.

Palast is the day of the week.  We'll be using the Solamnic Calendar, so instead of Monday, Tuesday, blah, blah, blah things'll go as follows:

Palast (Monday), Majetag (Tuesday), Kirinor (Wednesday), Misham (Thursday), Bakukal (Friday), Bracha (Saturday) and Linaras (Sunday).

Brookgreen is the month.  Soooo, the Calendar goes like so.

Newkolt (January), Deepkolt (February), Brookgreen (March), Yurthgreen (April), Fleurgreen (May), Holmswelth (June), Fierswelt (July), Paleswelt (August), Reapember (September), Gildember (October), Darkember (November) and Frostkolt (December).

We will however be using the standard year naming convention, even though this whole thing takes place before the Cataclysm and Pre-Cataclysm really isn't something that's used for this time period.

Alright Taywin, take it away.....

Ummm, thanks XP Fairy....

Right, where were we?

Oh yes, Palast, 23rd day of Brookgreen, 1021 PC

How many years have we been fighting this God's forsaken war?

How many of my kindred have we lost, how many humans, elves and dwarves?

When will the Dark Lady realize her folly and leave us in peace?

Aurik, the son of the Master of this keep found me earlier as I was sunning myself in a brief peaceful moment and has asked me to attend to his father, Werstran, current Lord of Ravenskeep.

He asked me to take a box north to Palanthas. He explained that what it contained could not, under any circumstances fall into the hands of the enemy.

I was dubious, until he opened the box and showed me what it held. I recognized it immediately, even though in my eyes it looked like a small toy or trinket.  The Key!  What ever could have caused the Lord of Ravenskeep to give up the Key, one of the most important artifacts on Krynn, and did his Lady wife know?  What did she had to say about all of this I wondered?

I was informed that the clerics of Mishakal were tending her, and that she was expected to make a full recovery from her wounds.  Werstran definitely wasn't the bard in the family.

I decided that I would do this, but not without help.

Werstran was kind enough to allow me to take who ever I wanted with me.

I am leaving tomorrow morning with Aurik and a Kagonesti elf named Willow.  It should be an interesting adventure.

I'm not looking forward to seeing Astinus again, he's always so grumpy.
